SHIP'S
USS George E. Davis DE357
The U.S.S. George E. Davis, a Destroyer Escort, hull number
DE-357, was commissioned in August 1944. Bound for the Pacific, she
served her country honorably and well. This website is dedicated to the
gallant men that served aboard her so that their sacrifice for our
nation shall always be remembered.
Carriers
Since World War II, the U.S. Navy's carriers
have been the national force of choice. In over 80% of the times when the World
was faced with international violence, the United States has responded with one
or more carrier task forces. Over the past 25 years, requirements for USN
carrier forces to be on station to respond to a crisis have increased.

USS America
(CVA/CV-66)
On January 23rd, 1965 Hull
number 561 became the USS America, CVA66.Designed, built equipped,
manned and then deployed to the far corners of the globe.
She cruised more than a million miles through the Atlantic, Pacific and
Indian Oceans. The Mediterranean, The Gulf of Ton kin, The Persian
Gulf, The Red Sea and the Adriatic Sea. USS
Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31)
Following the North Vietnamese
attack upon the United States destroyers MADDOX and TURNER JOY in 1964,
BON HOMME RICHARD entered her third war. About to return home after a
routine deployment, she was extended in the Western Pacific for an
additional 45 days to commence operations against North Vietnam
