Desert Storm Commemoratives Patches 2

Operation Desert Storm gave us a variety of patch designs -- all unauthorized  --  but worn with great pride by soldiers and civilians alike.  All patches were worn from August 1990 - 28 February 1991.  A representative sampling follows.

Operation Desert Storm

Worn from:  28 February 1991.

Many patches commemorating Operation Desert Storm were produced during the conflict.  The one depicted here was extremely popular minus the yellow banner across the center.  After the war, the manufacturer of this particular patch found an interesting way to unload his excess inventory; the manufacturer simply re-embroidered the inscription "Mission Accomplished" over the original design.  We know that the United States accomplished its mission, but cannot say as the the success of the manufacturer's mission.
